Babies, Child, growing up, mblog, mumblogger, mumblogs, Mummy and lifestyle blogger, Mummy blogger, Myself, Pblogger, photography, UncategorizedHow is my baby 10 months old today? It only feels like yesterday I welcomed her into this world.
Here is what Miyah is doing at 10 months old.
Words;
Miyah has started getting very vocal from our last update- She now says ‘dada’ ‘mama’ & ‘nana’. Most of these are followed by them repeated 10x over. ‘Mamamamamamama’ but none the less, she is saying it! She is also very good at screaming and making grumbling noises to show us when she wants attention.
Eating;
Miyah has grown considerably when eating. From having 1 to 2 meals a day, she is now eating all the bloody time. We have started introducing her with a lot more finger food now and she is exploring a whole new world. She has started having more dinner’s with us than jars and at the moment, sandwiches and bread sticks are her favourite along side quavers! I have started to try and give her more healthier snack to get used to them as well. This includes peppers, cucumber, carrots etc. She is loving her food and is always stealing mine or Michaels!
Physical;
Miyah is now on the go, all day, everyday. She just doesn’t stop. She also walks around the furniture to get to where she wants also, this progressed to when she is on her hands and knees, to pushing her feet up and going on her hands and feet. So i really don’t think it will be long before she tried to walk. She now has 3 teeth (2 on the bottom and 1 on the top) with one on the way down at the top too. This has caused so many problems in her sleep! But non the less, she is changing more and more everyday, and getting more and more like her dad. Miyah is still quite dinky so doesn’t look her age at all.
Adjustments;
We have now had to look into getting decent cupboard locks and moving all little things out of her way. Everything she finds- is in her mouth. Gotta have eyes on the back of your head! We have also had to put her toys in a different way in the front room so its easy for her to grab!
Sleep Routine;
Oh my goodness, where do i get started? Since my last update (8months) Things have changed a LOT! Miyah now wakes up to 10 times a night and sometimes gets up for hours before going back off. I know it’s down to her teeth but its draining me! She starts to get tired and wingey around 4pm and we try our hardest to keep her awake but come 5, she is a nightmare! Screaming the house down and being a pain, to the point where the moment she is picked up she is drifting off so her sleep is all over the place and that means mine is too.
My next update, will be when she is 1 years old… how scary is that?
Until 1 years old,
Rosie’s Gymnastic’s
Child, children, growing up, ToddlerAs many of my followers know, a few weeks ago, Rosie started gymnastics.
As she has grown up, we have found this to be something she can do and not get out of breath and chesty. This was obviously very important for us as she has so many problems with her chest. As we would have our stays on the ward, and Rosie would start to improve she would play in the toy area. Doing her stretches and showing us how flexible she can be. We have always known that gymnastics is something she would love because she is just always doing it. Rolly Polly’s and handstands galore.
Our last hospital stay, Rosie became close with another nurse, who would cheer her on when she was practising. Our last day in hospital and the nurse came in and said “I was so hoping that you hadn’t been discharged over night- i have got something for Rosie” and proceeded to give her a leotard. Rosie was over the moon and put it in straight away!
After that, we waited for Rosie to fully recover and get used to her new medication and i searched for local gymnastic classes. I found a reasonably priced class at 4:00pm on a Wednesday. Of course this is a struggle to get too after school but its so worth it to see her get so involved.
She settled in very quickly and has even been gymnastic of the week! She was so proud and told everyone! I’m so proud of her, she is definitely coming out of her shell and showing more determination every time she goes. She is doing a fabulous job.

Christmas Traditions, around the world and in my house.
Babies, Child, children, Christmas Gift Guide, growing up, mblog, mumblogger, mumblogs, Mummy and lifestyle blogger, Mummy blogger, Myself, Pblogger, photography, ToddlerRight so, i know Christmas is different for everyone. But come on, who doesn’t love having a sneak peak into what happens in other homes at this time of year? I love learning about different traditions and how other people celebrate.
Let start with different houses, here are a few traditions some fellow bloggers have in their homes!
Lyndsey says: We open our presents at midnight on Christmas Eve so that we can spend our time with our daughter. It’s been tradition in my family for years. As we got into our teens we did this so we could watch younger cousins with their presents on the big day. You can find Lyndsey’s twitter here and her blog here.
Lianne says: We visit everyone Xmas eve so we can chill and spend time as a family on Xmas day – we wake up have presents and a nice breakfast and then the little ones play and I make Xmas diner and then we play board games and have a buffet in the evening. You can find Lianne’s blog here.
Vicki says: The children’s stockings are left, filled at the end of their beds, by Santa. One of our favourite traditions is when they wake on Christmas morning and come running into our room dragging their stockings with them. They explore the contents of their stockings on our bed … I absolutely love this start to Christmas Day – it’s heart warming and magical . You can find Vicki’s Blog here and her twitter here.
Sinead says: Presents are left until after dinner (but before pudding!). All started because my parents were landlords for 25 years so we always worked Xmas day; with our own Xmas not really beginning until we’d fed and watered everyone else. keeps the excitement going a little longer and is a great break between all the eating! You can find Sineads blog here.
Jenni Says: We open most of our Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, as is the custom in Germany where I’m originally from. On Christmas Day, first thing we do is inspect our stockings, which Santa has filled with a few extra things, then we always have a full cooked Scottish breakfast! (my husband is Scottish). I blogged about out ‘double Christmas’ last year, if you want fuller details, you can read here. You can find Jenni’s twitter here.
We have recently started a tradition, as this will be our 3rd full Christmas together as a full family and our first with Miyah!
Our Tradition starts the on Christmas Eve. We all snuggle up before bed with a duvet and hot chocolate- watching a Christmas movie. After the movie has finished we plate up everything for Santa and his Reindeer and off to bed we go! When we wake up, we watch Rosie open her stocking and head downstairs to see if Santa has been! We see if Rosie wants any breakfast but by this time she is so excited she will probably stop half way through to eat haha! We put on some Christmas music and we all open our presents. Rosie is very slow at this so could take a while haha! After we have all opened our presents we tidy up and get dressed! We may have a cheeky chocolate or two. Around 11 o clock, we head to the pub nearest us and meet Michaels family for a drink and a socialise before heading home and having our Christmas dinner. As usual and as it always will be, Michael cooks our 3 course dinner and by the time its done, we are bloody stuffed and can’t move. Rosie will go off to play with her new toys and me and Michael will tidy up.Around 5:30/6 Rosie will go her dads house till boxing day night and me and Michael chill in the evening. This year is different! This year we have Michael’s brother round for dinner and in the evening Michaels parents are coming round for a drink. I’m extremely looking forward this year.
How does Christmas go in your house?
Until next time,
Getting a new kitten!
Babies, Child, children, growing up, mblog, mumblogger, mumblogs, Mummy and lifestyle blogger, Mummy blogger, Myself, PbloggerThings have been very exciting around here!
For 3 years i begged Michael for a kitten, and finally he gave in! I looked around for a cat and found this beautiful black kitten. I was in love. I organised to talk to my Landlord to see if we could get permission and firstly he said no. I put my big girl boots on and wrote him an email with a contract stating that anything that happens will be on us. He organised an inspection and said we could talk about the kitten more then! After the inspection he said yes and i could have cried. We got everything ready and picked the kitten up that evening!
And he is gorgeous! After some talking and advice from friends, we names him Toothless.
More updates to come!
