How to self care as a parent.

Self care is hard enough as it is, when everyone leads such busy lives, but self care when you are a parent can be extremely hard.

From the moment you open your eyes, till you close your eyes, you are making sure your kids are happy, healthy and fed. Where is the day, is there time to make sure you are happy as well? Here is my top tips, for getting some self care, as a parent.
In the morning!

I know, I know! Mornings.. who has time for anything?! Hear me out. If you haven’t had a bad night with the bubs, try waking up a little earlier, giving you time for things you wouldn’t normally be able to do. Try doing some yoga, or having a HOT cuppa by yourself before your little ones get up. Having a positive morning can really affect how the rest of you day goes. Waking up and giving yourself a little ‘Me’ time can give you a real positive start. Even if it is just a shower, or having time to straighten your hair and do a little make-up.
During The Day.

During the day, try and find some time to do that makes you happy. Even if it is just 5 minutes. If your child is young enough to nap, do something that you know you will be thankful for later on. Do a little tidying, have a bath… or just lay down and nap with your little one. Don’t stress yourself out too much, this is what causes bad moods.

Always make sure you eat. This fuels you, gives you more energy which can leave you feeling better! Drinking water when you can,and making sure you sit down even if it is for 5 minutes. Just to let yourself rest.

In the evening.

When the children have gone to bed, don’t overwork yourself. Do a little housework if needed and time some time to have a proper self care session.

Have some dinner if you haven’t already. When you have finished, watch some tele or read a book. Something you really like doing in your down time.

Once you are getting ready for bed, take some time to do your nightly routine. Have a bath or shower, use a face mask.. I use Procoal Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Face Scrub. Light a few candles and take some you time. It’s really important that you take time for yourself.

Bed Time.

Bed Time.is a critical part of self care. Making sure you get enough sleep is a big thing. It can make you feel so much for the next day.

What do you do for self care? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time!
