I am so excited, like i can’t even explain how excited i am to be writing this review for you. So Friday the 28th of July 2017 we was invited to Chicago’s Rock Cafe in Yeovil, featuring the band Twisted Vinyl and the night was awesome. We was treated like celebrities!
I reviewed this bar in hope it would be a lovely place for mothers to let their hair down when they can. I wouldn’t usually review a club like this but i found it was amazing for just that. People letting their hair down after a stressful day/year haha!
So i was contacted by Jo Mathers from LimeGreen communications who invited me and 6 others to the Cafe for a live music night. I was given a list of different bands and the best date for us all was the 28th. So i finalized all the details and i invited my OH, my mum, my auntie and my friend.
I met Mat, at the front of the club at 9pm. Matt was extremely profession apon greeting us. He was well dressed, and looked smart. He showed us to our booth, where we where handed VIP wrist bands & our drink tokens. He explained how the night would work and allowed us to get settled. A few moments later we where present with a large bottle of Prosecco with a large sparkler attached. This really made our night! The decor was beautiful, it was very up to date and had a lovely vibe. there where balloons on some of the booths and the lighting was great, it didn’t feel like a crowed club and the atmosphere was just amazing.
It was a very social club, lots of talking and dancing. This gave it a fab vibe and i feel that it would be amazing for mums who have managed to the night off. There is a big dance floor to let your hair down but if you’re not into that; there is some lovely tables and seating where you can listen and just have a good natter.
The drinks where amazing, there was a wild variety and they where presented beautifully. I had a sex on the beach and it was in a mason jar with a slice of orange.
I honestly felt like a proper VIP and i don’t think i could have been treated any better.
* My partner did mention the mens toilets could have been kept a little better, but we where not there for the toilets. We where there for the band and club. Other than that everything was perfect*
I had the amazing opportunity to meet the band before they played. They are:
Josh, Jamie, Ash and Rubin.
The boys explained they started their band in college for an assignment. They never expected that it would get this far. They played a few gigs in college and people started asking if they where available for bookings and it just started from there. The sing in a 60’s style with a wide range of different songs.
There where 3 guitars, a lead singer and a drummer. They where all extremely professional and communicated very well with each other. They where dressed in a vest and tie suit and looked smart.
They got the audience involved which i loved. I love it when we all get involved because it lets you connect with the band and it means they are thinking of us ad our experience. They had an amazing stage presence and where lovely and very easy to talk too. We even managed to get pictures with them before hand. They answered all questions i had and just made the experience so much easier. They worked very well and in tune with each other. They all worked through problems together. There was a bit of feedback from the microphones and they did;t let it bother them and they worked through it.
I honestly loved the whole night and i cannot give it a good enough rating. I will defiantly be going back and having a good dance. I can’t thank everyone invoked enough for letting us experience everything.
Here are the reviews from the amazing people i went with!
Michael: It was a fun night, we arrived and was greeted with smiles and was shown our booth, asked if we had any questions and got to meet the band. The band was a younger generation than expected for a 60s band but nevertheless they were brilliant in what they done. If they were playing again near me then I will defiantly go again.
Lindsey: I was very excited to be invited along with Becca to review Chicago rock. The place was very clean and the staff were very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend the club and I will be going back myself.
Kieran: I enjoyed myself very much it was a great atmosphere with a very good live band and very polite friendly staff.
